INDIANAPOLIS — Hundreds of families were at the Tibbs Drive-In Saturday to get out of the house and enjoy a movie during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since people aren't able to go to movie theaters due to the pandemic, the drive-in theaters give people a chance to get out of the house and watch a movie.
For some people, like Phillip Williams, it was their first time coming to a drive-in theater.
Others, like Demarcus Collins, came out with his fiancee to celebrate a friend's birthday.
"Out here to celebrate him and her," Collins said. "They are moving out of the state, but we are here to support."
The owners of the drive-in theater says there have been long lines each night since they opened last weekend.
They expect people to keep coming as people continue to look for ways to get out of the house.
Customers can get a $2 off the regular price right now.
You must stay in your car or bed of your truck unless you're going to the bathroom or concession stand.
Only 725 cars are allowed, which is 50 percent capacity.
Since new movies aren't being released right now, the owners are showing classics and taking suggestions.
