CARMEL, Ind. – When you’re looking for a piece with a special touch, you don’t head to the mall – you visit the Indie Arts & Vintage Marketplace.

The event, heavily present in New York and Chicago, has made it way to Indiana. Jon Jenkins has been putting on vintage shows since the 90s.

“I was doing shows in Ohio, Tennessee, and Connecticut and I’ve lived here all my life and I thought, ‘heck, why don't I have a show where I live,” said Jenkins.

The traveling market offers anything vintage, antique, artisanal, upcycled or repurposed.

“A lot of stuff things that you'd find in your grandma’s attic,” said Ashley, an event attendee.

At the Indie Arts & Vintage Marketplace, shoppers discover a new purpose for antiques.

“You're not going to buy anything here that your neighbor says, ‘oh my gosh I love that… I have three of them,” said Jenkins.

The next marketplace event will take place Oct. 28 at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.
