INDIANAPOLIS – A woman living on Indy’s north side was held at gunpoint Saturday afternoon.

The woman, who didn’t want to be identified, told Indianapolis Metropolitan Police she was on a walk with her 7-month-old son when the incident happened.

She said a car drove up beside her and a man leaned out of the passenger window while pointed a handgun at her.

The man demanded the woman give him her cell phone and ring, according to a police report. The woman said she was shocked and froze before the suspect got out of the vehicle and stood in front of her while continuing to point the gun as he demanded items.

A ring and a cell phone was handed to the suspect before the pair fled toward E. 71st Street, the report detailed.

The suspects were said to be two black males, according to police and witnesses said they were in a maroon two-door Monte Carlo with a tinted license plate.

“I'm probably a little bit more worried, but that's not going to stop me from walking,” a neighbor said.

If you have any information on this case, call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
