2 men convicted in north side triple homicide

INDIANAPOLIS -- A Marion County jury convicted two men for their roles in a July 2017 triple homicide on Indianapolis' north side.

Troy Ward, 19, was found guilty of three counts of murder, three counts of felony murder, three counts of robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and carrying a handgun without a license, and Martell Williams, 20, was found guilty of three counts of felony murder, three counts of robbery resulting in a serious bodily injury and carrying a handgun without a license, Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry announced Monday.

Justin Crowder, Dominique Miller and Jordan Wright were fatally shot inside an apartment in the 7800 block of Somerset Bay on July 16, 2017.

Ward and Williams were involved in a plan to rob Crowder, witnesses testified during the trial. During the robbery, Ward shot and killed the three victims.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 20.

Three others charged in the homicides have agreed to plead guilty, Curry said. Sean Jones agreed to plead guilty to three counts of robbery, Stanley Williams pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit armed robbery and Devante Gilbert pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commite armed robbery.
