Moos & Blues Hope Ride in Bartholomew County raises funds for those in need

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. -- Take in the sights in Bartholomew County by bicycle and raise money for a good cause by signing up for the 30th annual Hope Ride.

Registration for the ride begins at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, at Hauser High School, 9273 N. State Rd., Hope, Ind.

Breakfast and lunch will be served, and there will be root beer floats served after the ride.

Highlights of the ride include Mennonite homesteads, historic churches, Simmons' Winery/450 North Brewing Co., Red Dog's Petting Zoo, Anderson Falls Park, old iron bridges, Flat Rock River, windmills, old barns and the Yellow Trail Museum.

The first team to register 100 riders takes home $2,000 for their local food bank. Second place wins $500 and third wins $250 for their food pantry. all teams of 20 or more win $200.

All proceeds go directly to those in need, area food pantries and to youth outreach programs in the community,

In 29 years, the event has raised more than $500,000.
