COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Fall weather brings beautiful fall foliage and beautiful colors but also lots of extra work for homeowners.

We may enjoy looking at the leaves on the trees once they change colors but few look forward to picking them up once the leaves hit the ground.

The city of Columbus is making it a little bit easier to dispose of the leaves from your yard when loose leaf pick-up begins October 16.

Loose leaves will be collected curbside (not on private roads) on your designated trash day. Leaves must be curbside by 7:00 am.

Leaves in bags will not be collected.

The service runs through December 15, 2017.

Call the Department of Public Works with questions (812)-376-2508.
