NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- A Wisconsin man was arrested and charged with 18 counts after he used a fake online persona to get a Noblesville, Indiana girl to send him nude photos.

Police say Craig D. Miller, 45, stole photos from a New Jersey teenage boy's social media page then contacted the girl through a chat app using the fake user name "Andy Harrington."

They began communicating via the app as he coerced the girl into sending him nude photos of herself.

Miller also admitted to police he used another fake name to tell the girl that "Andy Harrington" had attempted suicide because of her.

This caused the girl anxiety and guilt, police say. She attempted suicide, which prompted the investigation after her parents went to the police.

Miller did similar things to at least three underage girls in other states, according to court documents. He allegedly told one 16-year-old victim, "...they needed to trust each other, and that the only way to build trust was to send each other nude photos."

When police searched his phone, they found hundreds of images of child pornography in "carefully organized folders."

Police say he would "exert control and psychological pressure on these fragile girls to get them to comply with his requests."

Court documents show Miller has a wife and two children, ages 12 and 10.

Miller faces the following charges:

  • Two counts of exposing genitals
  • Three counts of sexual exploitation of a child
  • Two counts of mental harm to child
  • 10 counts of possession of child pornography
  • Identity theft to harm

If convicted on all counts, Miller could face more than 300 years behind bars.
