August 29-Dry, Sweet & Classic Wine Tasting Fundraising: A popular northeast Indiana fundraising event is right around the corner! Friday night August 29 at 7 p.m. the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum will host its annual “Dry, Sweet and Classic” Wine Tasting fundraising event at the museum. This event has become a Friday evening staple over Labor Day weekend in Auburn. The wine tasting not only draws in eager crowds from across the state, with many coming from Fort Wayne and Auburn, but is also attended by many from around the country. As in years past, the wine tasting will offer an assortment of wines for attendees to sample, along with fine foods from area vendors. Attendees will sample from over 80 different wines available during the event!

August 29-31-Indy Oktoberfest moves to State Fairgrounds: After 33 years in German Park on Indianapolis' south side, Oktoberfest is headed to the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The event will be held at the fairgrounds' Agriculture/Horticulture building and the adjacent parking lot from 4 p.m. to midnight Aug. 29 - 31 and Sept. 5 - 6. Produced by the German-American Klub of Indianapolis, Oktoberfest features authentic, traditional German cuisine like frikadellen (German hamburgers), bratwurst, knachwurst, sauerkraut and German-style potato salad.
